Maria Mercado is currently "the most giving student" from the c/o 2016. Over the years, she has volunteered in different facilities for over 1,000 hours. The majority of her hours were done at Miami Cerebral Palsy, where she worked with children with disabilities like autism.  Maria enjoys being able to help others and give to those less fortunate than she.

 

When asked what she learned from all the community service she has done, she eagerly responded, "I learned that giving is better than receiving; you feel more fulfilled knowing what you do is putting a smile on someone else's face. In giving my time to these people, I have received a valuable lesson that I will always remember."
